The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 9:02 a.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the deputy chair, the Honourable Julie Miville-Dechêne, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cardozo, Clement, Dasko, Martin, Miville-Dechêne, Quinn and Richards (7).
Participating in the meeting: Khamla Heminthavong and Sarah Lemellin-Bellerose, analysts, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, April 11, 2024, the committee began its consideration of Bill C-288, An Act to amend the Telecommunications Act (transparent and accurate broadband services information).
WITNESSES:
Dan Mazier, Member of Parliament for Dauphin—Swan River—Neepawa, sponsor of the bill.
