Issue No. 8 - Order of Reference

Extract from the Journals of the Senate, Thursday, October 6, 2016:

The question was put on the motion of the Honourable Senator Mercer, seconded by the Honourable Senator Day, for the second reading of Bill S-213, An Act to amend the Constitution Act, 1867 and the Parliament of Canada Act (Speakership of the Senate), it was adopted.

The bill was then read the second time.

The Honourable Senator Mercer moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Hubley, that the bill be referred to the Special Senate Committee on Senate Modernization.

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
