The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 3:15 p.m., in room 256-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable Larry Smith, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Ataullahjan, Campbell, Cools, Eaton, Harder, P.C., Marshall, Mitchell, Patterson, Pratte and Smith (11).

Other Senator present: The Honourable Senator Bellemare (1).

In attendance: Alex Smith and Sylvain Fleury, analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, June 16, 2016, the committee began its study of Bill C-15, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 22, 2016 and other measures.

It was agreed that the committee proceed to clause-by-clause consideration of Bill C-15, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 22, 2016 and other measures.

It was agreed that the title stand postponed.

It was agreed that clause 1, which contains the short title, stand postponed.

With leave, it was agreed that the clauses be grouped according to the parts of the bill as described in the Table of Provisions of Bill C-15.

After debate, it was agreed that Part 1 be reconsidered.

At 3:47 p.m., the Honourable Senator Patterson replaced the Honourable Senator Neufeld as a committee member.

It was agreed that Part 4, Division 7, which contains clauses 180 and 181, carry, on division.
