The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 9:31 a.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Larry Smith, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Batters, Cools, Cowan, Eaton, Marshall, Mitchell, Moore, Pratte, Smith and Tkachuk (11).
In attendance: Alex Smith and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
At 9:32 a.m., the chair informed the committee of the vacancy in the office of deputy chair and asked that nominations be put forward to fill it.
The Honourable Senator Moore moved:
That the Honourable Senator Cools be deputy chair of the committee.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
At 9:37 a.m., pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, the committee continued its study on the federal government's multi-billion dollar infrastructure funding program. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 7.)

Ryan Greer, Director, Transportation and Infrastructure Policy.

Mr. Dachis, Mr. Greer and Mr. Law made statements and answered questions.
At 11:03 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 11:06 a.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to consider a draft agenda (future business).
It was agreed that senators' staff be permitted to remain in the room for the in camera meeting.
At 11:15 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
