The Standing Senate Committee on Official Languages met in camera this day at 5:33 p.m., in room 257, East Block, the chair, the Honourable Claudette Tardif, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Fraser, McIntyre, Rivard, Seidman and Tardif (5).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Gagné (1).
In attendance: Marie-Ève Hudon, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament; Marcy Galipeau, Communications Officer, Senate Communications Directorate.
Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft agenda (future business).
At 6:24 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 6:25 p.m., the committee resumed in public.
The Honourable Senator Fraser moved:
That notwithstanding the motion adopted on April 18, 2016, the following revised budget application for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017, in relation to a special study on access to French-language schools and immersion programs in British Columbia be approved for submission to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration:
