The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day at 4:16 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Art Eggleton, P.C., presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bernard, Dean, Eggleton, P.C., Manning, Mégie, Munson, Omidvar, Petitclerc, Poirier, Raine and Seidman (11).
In attendance: Barbara Reynolds, Procedural Clerk, Committees Directorate; Sonya Norris, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, June 8, 2017, the committee began its examination of Bill S-234, An Act to amend the Parliament of Canada Act (Parliamentary Artist Laureate).
