The Subcommittee on Boreal Forest of the Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met at 5:23 p.m. this day, in Room 172-E, Centre Block, the Chair, the Honourable Senator Doris Anderson, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Anderson and Taylor (2).

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw, Research Officer; Media Relations Officer of the subcommittee: Barbara Robson.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

The committee met to consider future business.

Mr. Ray Hatfield, Acting Director, Environment Branch and Natural Resources Directorate, Lands and Environment Branch, Lands and Trust Services;

Mr. Peter Wyse, Manager, Natural Resources, Environment and Natural Resources Directorate, Lands and Environment Branch, Lands and Trust Services;

Mr. Gilbert Aubin, Forestry Advisor, Environment and Renewable Resources Directorate.

Mr. Hatfield made a statement and, together with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 6:25 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
