The Standing Senate Committee on Aboriginal Peoples met at 10:11 a.m., this day, in Room 160-S, Centre Block, the Chairman, the Honourable Charlie Watt, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Adams, Andreychuk, Beaudoin, Berntson, Chalifoux, Forest, St-Germain, P.C., Taylor and Watt (9).
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jill Wherrett, Mary Hurley.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday March 26, 1998, the committee began its examination of Bill C-6, An Act respecting to provide for an integrated system of land and water mangement in the Mackenzie Valley, to establish certain boards for that purpose and to make consequential amendments to other Acts.
WITNESSES:

Will Dunlop, Director, Resource Policy and Transfers Directorate;
Margaret Gray, Policy Specialist, Resource Policy and Transfers Directorate;
Jacques Denault, Policy Specialist, Resource Policy and Transfers Directorate; and
Suzanne Grenier, Legal Counsel.
Mr. Dunlop made a presentation with Ms Grenier and answered questions.
At 11:27 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
