The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Room 257-EB, the Deputy Chair, the Honourable Senator Eugene Whelan, P.C., presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Fairbairn, P.C., Hays, Hervieux-Payette, P.C., Robichaud, P.C., (Saint-Louis-de-Kent ) Rossiter, Spivak, Stratton and Whelan, P.C. (8).
In attendance: June Dewetering, Research Officer, Research Branch, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to its order of reference to study the present state and the future of agriculture in Canada, consideration of the effect of international trade issues on farm income.
Mr. Don Dewar made a statement and, with Mr. Ken Tjaden, answered questions.
Mr. William Miner and Mr. Robert Wolfe each made a statement and, together, answered questions.
At 12:11 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
