The Subcommittee of the Boreal Forest of the Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met at 5:06 p.m. this day, in Room 705, Victoria Building, the Chair, the Honourable Nicholas W. Taylor, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cohen and Taylor (2).
In attendance: Ms Lynne Myers, Research Officer, Library of Parliament. Mr. David Newman, Communications Adviser.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to its Order of Reference adopted in the Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry on February 19, 1998, the subcommittee commenced its study to inquire into issues related to the harvest of the Boreal Forest and other matters relating to forestry which may referred to it from time to time by the committee. (See Issue No. 1, February 19, 1998, for the full text of the Order of Reference.)

At 6:20 p.m., the subcommittee resumed its meeting.
Mr. Schindler made a presentation and answered questions.
Mr. Sullivan made a brief statement.
At 8:05 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned.
