The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs met this day at 3:18 p.m. in Room 160-S of the Centre Block, the Chairman, the Honourable John B. Stewart, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Bolduc, Stewart, Cook, Johnstone, Milne, Ferretti Barth and Chalifoux (8).
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Peter Berg, Economics Division.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Mrs. Margaret Huber, Director General, North Asia and Pacific Bureau; and

The committee resumes consideration of its order of reference pertaining to relations between Canada and the Asia-Pacific region (see committee proceedings of October 29, 1997, Issue No. 2).
The witnesses each made a presentation and took questions from committee members.
At 5:25 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
