The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs met this day at 3:32 p.m. in Room 160-S of the Centre Block, the Chairman, the Honourable John B. Stewart, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Carney, P.C., Corbin, De Bané, P.C., Doody, Grafstein, Losier-Cool, Stewart and Stollery (9).
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Mr. Peter Berg, Economics Division.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

From the Department of National Defence:

The committee resumes consideration of its order of reference pertaining to relations between Canada and the Asia-Pacific region (see committee proceedings of October 29, 1997, Issue No. 2).
The witnesses each made a presentation and took questions from committee members.
At 5:32 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
