The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs met this day at 5:58 p.m. in Room 257 of the East Block, the Chairman, the Honourable John B. Stewart, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Bolduc, Di Nino, Grafstein and Stewart (5).
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch: Mr. Peter Berg, Economics Division.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Mr. John D. Murray, Chief, International Department.
The committee resumed consideration of its Order of Reference calling on it to consider the consequences for Canada of the emerging European Monetary Union and other related trade and investment matters. (see committee proceedings of November 27, 1997, Issue No. 5).
The witness made a presentation and answered questions from committee members.
At 7:22 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
