The Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs, met this day in Room 257, East Block, at 10:46 a.m., the Chair, the Honourable Lorna Milne, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Beaudoin, Bryden, Buchanan, P.C., Fraser, Grafstein, Joyal, P.C., Moore, Nolin, and Rompkey, P.C. (11).
In attendance: Marilyn Pilon, Research Officer, Research Branch, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, October 22, 1998, the committee continued its consideration of Bill C-3, An Act respecting DNA identification and to make consequential amendments to the Criminal Code and other Acts. (For full text of order of reference, please see Issue No. 43, Wednesday, November 25, 1998.)

Mr. Brian Ford made a statement and, together with Mr. McConnell, answered questions.
