The Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs, met this day in Room 257, East Block, at 4:00 p.m. the Chair, the Honourable Lorna Milne, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Bryden, Fraser, Grafstein, Joyal, P.C., Lynch-Staunton, Mahovlich, Milne, Moore and Nolin (10).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Kenny, Lavoie-Roux and Pearson (3).
In attendance: Mollie Dunsmuir and Nancy Holmes, Research Officers, Research Branch, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, December 8, 1998, the committee commenced its consideration of Bill C-42, An Act to amend the Tobacco Act.
