The Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs, met this day, in Room 257, East Block, at 16:04 p.m., the Chair, the Honourable Lorna Milne, , presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Beaudoin, Bryden, Milne, Moore, Nolin and Robichaud, P.C. (Saint-Louis-de-Kent) (6).

Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Oliver (1).

In attendance: Nancy Holmes, Research Officer, Research Branch, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, June 2, 1998, the committee continued its consideration of Bill S-17, An Act to amend the Criminal Code respecting criminal harassment and other related matters. (For full text of Order of Reference please refer to Issue 51, Wednesday, February 3, 1999.)
