The Special Committee on Transportation Safety and Security met this day at 11:00 a.m., in Room 256-S, Centre Block, the Chairman, the Honourable Senator Forrestall, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Adams, Forrestall, Maloney and Roberge (4).
In attendance: Keith Miller, Special Advisor on Aviation; Bruce Carson, Senior Advisor, John Christopher, Library of Parliament Researcher.
WITNESSES:
From the Airline Division of the Canadian Union of Public Employees:
Denise Hill, Division President;
Richard Balnis, Research Officer.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on June 18, 1998, the committee continued its study on the state of transportation safety and security in Canada (see Issue # 1 for the complete text of the Order of Reference).
Ms Hill made a presentation with Mr. Balnis and answered questions from committee members.
At 12:31 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
