The Special Committee on Transportation Safety and Security met this day at 10:55 a.m., in Room 256-S, Centre Block, the Chairman, the Honourable Senator Forrestall, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Adams, Forrestall, Maloney, Perrault, P.C. and Roberge (5).

In attendance: Keith Miller, Special Advisor on Aviation; Bruce Carson, Senior Advisor, John Christopher, Library of Parliament Researcher.

WITNESS:

As an individual:

Gerald F. Marsters, President, AeroVations Inc.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on June 18, 1998, the committee continued its study on the state of transportation safety and security in Canada (see Issue # 1 for the complete text of the Order of Reference).

Dr. Marsters made a presentation and answered questions from members of the committee.

At 12:01 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
