The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 4:20 p.m., the Chairman, the Honourable Lise Bacon, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Forrestall, Johnson, Mercier, Poulin, Roberge and Spivak. (7)

Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on October 21,1997, the committee proceeded to consider Bill S-2, an Act to amend the Canadian Transportation Accident Investigation and Safety Board Act and to make a consequential amendment to another Act.
The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.
At 6:00 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
