The Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs met at 3:16 p.m., this day in Room 256-S, Centre Block, the Chairman, the Honourable Senator Orville H. Phillips, presiding.

Members of the subcommittee present: The Honourable Senators Jessiman, Cools, Phillips, Chalifoux (4).

Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Prud'homme (1).

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Jill Wherrett, Research Officer.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the Orders of Reference adopted by the Senate on November 25, 1997 and by the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology on November 25, 1997, the subcommittee continued its examination on the future of the Canadian War Museum. (See Proceedings of the Subcommittee dated February 2, 1998, Issue No. 3)

Ms Copps made a statement and answered questions from members of the subcommittee.
