The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 9:20 a.m. in room 705, Victoria Building, the Deputy Chair, the Honourable Senator Joyce Fairbairn, P.C., presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Chalifoux, Fairbairn, P.C., Fitzpatrick, Gill, Rossiter, Stratton and Wiebe (7).
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Research Officer.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
WITNESSES:
From the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association:
Mr. Greg Douglas, First Vice-President;
Ms Sharon McKinnon, Policy Manager.
Pursuant to its order of reference to study the present state and the future of agriculture in Canada, consideration of farm income issues.
Mr. Douglas made a statement and, together with Ms McKinnon, answered questions.
At 10:47 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
