The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day, at 8:35 a.m. this day in room 705, Victoria Building, the Chair, the Honourable Senator Leonard J. Gustafson, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Fairbairn, P.C., Gustafson, LaPierre, LeBreton, Robertson, Setlakwe, Sibbeston, Tkachuk and Tunney (9).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Hubley (1).
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge and Lorie Srivastava.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 20, 2001 the committee continues to examine international trade in agricultural and agri-food products, and short-term and long-term measures for the health of the agricultural and the agri-food industry in all regions of Canada (For complete text of Order of Reference see proceedings of the committee, Issue no. 2.)

Mr. Bernard Courtois, Chief Strategy Officer;
Ms Linda Gervais, Vice-President, Federal Government Relations.
From SaskTel:
Ms Pat Tulloch, General Manager, Marketing.
Mr. Courtois made a presentation and answered questions with Ms Gervais.
Ms Tulloch made a presentation and answered questions.
Ms Gervais continued to answer questions with Ms Tulloch.
The Honourable Senator Tunney moved — That the Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry approve the transfer of $4,000 from the heading of Transport and Communications to the heading of Professional and Other Services.
The committee recessed at 10:09 a.m.
The committee resumed at 10:12 a.m. in camera.
The committee discussed its draft report.
At 10:18 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
