The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day, at 8:35 a.m. in camera, pursuant to rule 92(2)(f), in room 705, Victoria Building, the Chair, the Honourable Senator Leonard J. Gustafson, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Biron, Chalifoux, Day, Fairbairn, P.C., Gustafson, Hubley, LaPierre, Oliver, Tkachuk and Tunney (10).
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge and Lorie Srivastava.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 20, 2001 the committee continues to examine international trade in agricultural and agri-food products, and short-term and long-term measures for the health of the agricultural and the agri-food industry in all regions of Canada. (For complete text of Order of Reference see Proceedings of the Committee, Issue No. 2.)
The committee reviewed a draft of a report.
At 10:26 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.

Dr. Dudelzak and Mr. Tremblay made a presentation and answered questions from the members of the committee.
At 9:50 a.m., the committee proceeded in camera pursuant to rule 92(2)(f), to discuss its draft report.
