The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day, in Room 705, Victoria Building, at 3:47 p.m., the Deputy Chair, the Honourable Marjory LeBreton, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Callbeck, Cook, Cordy, Fairbairn, P.C., Graham, P.C., Kirby, LeBreton, Robertson and Roche (9).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Keon and Morin (2).
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Odette Madore and Howard Chodos, from the Committees and Private Legislation Directorate: Josée Thérien, Legislative Clerk.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, March 1, 2001, the committee continued its consideration of the special study on the state of the health care system in Canada. (For complete text of Order of Reference see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 2.)
