Resuming debate on the motion of the Honourable Senator Milne, seconded by the Honourable Senator Finner ty, for the second reading of Bill S-12, An Act to amend the Statistics Act and the National Archives of Canada Act (census records).

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted on division.
The Bill was then read the second time, on division.
The Honourable Senator Milne moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Bryden, that the Bill be referred to the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology.
