The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communica tions met this day, in camera, at 5:30 p.m., in Room 256-S, Centre Block, the Chair, the Honourable Lise Bacon, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Adams, Bacon, Eyton, Finestone, P.C., Fitzpatrick, Gill, LaPierre, Oliver, Poy and Spivak (10).

In attendance: Martin Brennan, Special Advisor to the Committee and Joseph Dion, Library of Parliament.

Also in attendance: Josée Thérien, Legislative Clerk, Commit tees Directorate.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of a draft report.

At 7:00 p.m., It was agreed - That the committee adjourn to the call of the Chair.

The Standing Senate Committee on Transport andCommunications met this day at 9:26 a.m., in Room 257, East Block, the Chair, the Honourable Lise Bacon, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Adams, Bacon, Callbeck, Finestone, P.C., Fitzpatrick, Gill, LaPierre, Oliver and Spivak (9).

Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Rompkey, P.C. (1).

Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on May 30, 2001, the committee proceeded to study Bill C-14. (See Issue No. 10, Wednesday, June 6, 2001, for full text of the Order of Reference.)

The witness made a presentation and answered questions.
