The Standing Senate Committee on Transport andCommunications met this day at 9:30 a.m., in Room 256-S, Centre Block, the Deputy Chair, the Honourable Donald Oliver, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Adams, Biron, Fitzpatrick, Gill, LaPierre, Milne, Oliver and Spivak (8).
In attendance: Martin Brennan, special advisor to the Commit tee and Joseph Dion, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on October 16, 2001, the committee proceeded to study Bill S-33. (See Issue No. 15, Tuesday, October 30, 2001, for full text of the Order of Reference).
It was agreed - That the committee move to clause-by-clause consideration of Bill S-33.
It was agreed - That the title stand postponed.
It was agreed - That clause 1 stand postponed.
It was agreed - That clause 2 carry.
It was agreed - That clause 3 carry.
It was agreed - That clause 4 carry.
It was agreed - That clause 5 carry.
It was agreed - That clause 6 carry.
It was agreed - That schedule 6 carry.
It was agreed - That clause 1 carry.
It was agreed - That the Title carry.
It was agreed - That the Bill be adopted without amendment.
It was agreed - That the Chair report the Bill, as adopted, to the Senate.
At 9:33 a.m., it was agreed - That the committee adjourn to the call of the Chair.

The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communica tions met this day, in camera, at 5:34 p.m., in Room 256, Centre Block, the Chair, the Honourable Lise Bacon, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Adams, Bacon, Biron, Finestone, P.C., Gustafson, Hubley, LaPierre and Oliver. (8)
In attendance: Martin Brennan, Special Advisor to the Committee and Joseph Dion, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on September 26, 2001, the Committee proceeded at the examination on issues facing the intercity busing industry (See Issue No. 16, Tuesday, November 6, 2001 and Wednesday, November 7, 2001, for full text of the Order of Reference).
The committee proceeded at the consideration of a draft agenda.
The committee agreed to the proposed approach and workplan.
It was agreed - That the following budget application be approved for submission to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration:
