Resuming debate on the motion of the Honourable Senator Christensen, seconded by the Honourable Senator Léger for the second reading of Bill C-42, An Act respecting the protection of the Antarctic Environment.

After debate,

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

The Bill was then read the second time.

The Honourable Senator Christensen moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Trenholme Counsell, that the Bill be referred to the Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources.
