The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day, at 6:15 p.m., in room 705, Victoria Building, the Honourable Joyce Fairbairn, P.C. presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Callbeck, Fairbairn, P.C., Gill, Gustafson, Mercer, Mitchell and Oliver (7).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senators McCoy and Peterson.
In attendance: Frédéric Forge and Tara Gray from Research Branch of the Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, October 19, 2004, the committee continued its consideration of the present state and the future of agriculture and forestry in Canada. (See Issue No. 1, Tuesday, October 19, 2004, for full text of order of reference.)
