The Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce met this day, at 4:10 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the Chair, the Honourable Jerahmiel S. Grafstein, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Angus, Biron, Chaput, Eggleton, P.C., Grafstein, Gustafson, Harb, Massicotte, Moore, Oliver, Plamondon and St. Germain, P.C. (12).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators McCoy and Nancy Ruth (2).
In attendance: June Dewetering, Acting Principal, and Jean Dupuis, Analyst, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, October 20, 2004, the committee continued its consideration of the present state of the domestic and international financial system. (See Issue No. 2, November 24, 2004, for the full text of the Order of Reference.)

David Dodge, Governor;
Paul Jenkins, Senior Deputy Governor.
The Chair made an opening statement.
Mr. Dodge made a statement and, with Mr. Jenkins, answered questions.
At 6:15 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
