The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met at 3:40 p.m. this day, in room 705, Victoria Building, the Chair, the Honourable Michael Kirby, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Callbeck, Cook, Cordy, Fairbairn, P.C., Keon, Kirby, LeBreton, Morin and Pépin (9).
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Andrew Kitching, Research Analyst, Law and Government Division.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, October 20, 2004, the committee continued its examination of Bill S-9, An Act to amend the Copyright Act. (For complete text of order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 2).

It was agreed that the following budget application for legislation be approved for submission to the Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration:
