Resuming debate on the motion of the Honourable Senator Tkachuk, seconded by the Honourable Senator Eyton, for the second reading of Bill C-9, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (conditional sentence of imprisonment).

The bill was then read the second time.

The Honourable Senator Tkachuk moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Stratton, that the bill be referred to the Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs.
