Proceedings of the Special Senate Committee on Aging
Issue 5 - Evidence, April 1, 2008
OTTAWA, Tuesday, April 1, 2008
The Special Senate Committee on Aging met this day at 9 a.m. to consider a draft budget.
Senator Sharon Carstairs (Chair) in the chair.
[English]
The Chair: Honourable senators, we will go in camera to discuss our budget.
The committee continued in camera.
The committee resumed in public.
The Chair: May I have someone move the budget as drafted?
Senator Cordy moved that the budget be approved as drafted. All in favour? Agreed.
We need to address a couple of things before we adjourn. First, I will not be here on April 14. I will be chairing human rights meetings in South Africa. I will need Senator Keon to chair.
Second, we have a speaking engagement to meet with the secretariat in Ontario to discuss our options paper. Senator Mercer has agreed to go. I would like it reported as a day in the Senate where he is in attendance to the business of the Senate. Is that agreeable to everyone?
Hon. Senators: Agreed.
The committee adjourned.
