The Special Senate Committee on Anti-terrorism met at 1:00 p.m., this day, in room 160-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable David P. Smith, P.C., presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Baker, P.C., Fairbairn, P.C., Joyal, P.C., Nolin, Oliver and Smith, P.C. (7).
In attendance: Laura Barnett and Jennifer Bird, Analysts, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, the committee continued its study on Bill S-3, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (investigative hearing and recognizance with conditions). Mr. McDonell, Mr. Blair and Mr. Hawkes each made a statement and, together, answered questions.
At 2:02 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 2:07 p.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Forcese made a statement and answered questions.
At 2:52 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 2:53 p.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Barrette made a statement and answered questions.
The Honourable Senator Fairbairn, P.C. moved:
That the following legislative budget application be approved for submission to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration:
