The Special Senate Committee on Anti-terrorism met this day at 1:32 p.m., in room 160-S, Centre Block, the deputy chair, the Honourable Pierre Claude Nolin, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Baker, P.C., Fairbairn, P.C., Joyal, P.C., Nolin and Segal (6).
In attendance: Jennifer Bird, Analyst, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, the committee continued its examination on the provisions governing the security certificate process set out in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, S.C. 2001, c. 27, as recently modified by An Act to amend the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (certificate and special advocate) and to make a consequential amendment to another Act, S.C. 2008, c. 3, as well as to conduct a review of the operation of that process in the context of Canada's anti-terrorism framework.
