The Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources met this day, at 8:33 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Tommy Banks, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Adams, Banks, Brown, Cochrane, Dawson, Milne, Sibbeston, Spivak and Trenholme Counsell (9).
In attendance: Lynne Myers, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, November 15, 2007, the committee continued its examination of emerging issues related to its mandate. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 1.)

Martin Fortier, Executive Director;
Bernie Boucher, President of JF Boucher Consulting Ltd. and Chair of the Board of Directors.
NWT and Nunavut Chamber of Mines:
Mike Vaydik, General Manager.
Mr. Fortier made a presentation and, together with Mr. Boucher, answered questions.
At 9:35 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 9:39 a.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Vaydik made a presentation and answered questions.
At 10:36 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
