The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 9:37 a.m., in room 705, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cordy, Eaton, Fairbairn, P.C., Mahovlich, Mockler and Rivard (6).
In attendance: Frédéric Forge, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, the committee continued its consideration of the current state and future of Canada's forest sector. (For complete text of order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 1.)
It was agreed that the following special study supplementary budget application (current state and future of Canada's forest sector) in the amount of $ 265,600 be approved for submission to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration.

Professional and Other Services $ 32,400 Transportation and Communications 208,400 All Other Expenditures 25,700 TOTAL $ 265,600
At 10:00 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.

The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 5:06 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the deputy chair, the Honourable Joyce Fairbairn, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Eaton, Fairbairn, P.C., Finley, Grafstein, Mahovlich, Mercer, Plett, Poulin and Rivard (9).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Cordy (1).
In attendance: Mathieu Frigon, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, the committee continued its consideration of the current state and future of Canada's forest sector. (For complete text of order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 1.)
Pursuant to rule 92(2)f, the committee met in camera for the purpose of examining a draft report (budget).
It was agreed that the following special study budget supplementary application (current state and future of Canada's forest sector) in the amount of $ 250,400 be approved for submission to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration and that it replace the budget adopted on September 17, 2009.

At 5:15 p.m., the committee resumed in public.
