The Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce met this day at 4:05 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Michael A. Meighen, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Frum, Gerstein, Greene, Harb, Hervieux-Payette, P.C., Meighen, Oliver, Peterson and Zimmer (9).
In attendance: John Bulmer, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, the committee continued its examination of Bill S-232, An Act to amend the Patent Act (drugs for international humanitarian purposes) and to make consequential amendment to another Act.
