The Special Senate Committee on Anti-terrorism met at 1 p.m. this day, in room 2, Victoria Building, the Chair, the Honourable Hugh Segal, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Furey, Joyal, P.C., Marshall, Segal and Wallin (5).
In attendance: Dominique Valiquet and Cynthia Kirkby, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 27, 2010, the committee continued its examination on matters relating to anti-terrorism. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 1.)
WITNESSES:
Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada:
Denis Meunier, Assistant Director, Financial Analysis and Disclosures;
Gina Jelmini, Manager, Terrorist Financing Analysis;
Yvon Carrière, Senior Counsel, Legal Services.
The chair made an opening statement.
Mr. Meunier and Ms. Jelmini made statements and, together with Mr. Carrière, answered questions.
It was moved by the Honourable Senator Wallin that the chart entitled ``FINTRAC Sanitised Case'' be appended to the committee proceedings (see Appendix 1120-04-04-3.40/A1-SS-1, 12 ``1'').
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
At 3 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
