The Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources met this day at 5:12 p.m. to study the current state and future of Canada's energy sector (including alternative energy); and for the consideration of a draft budget.

The Chair: This is the meeting of the Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources. Notice has been duly given and we are here tonight to consider a draft budget approved by the steering committee and developed over the course of the past week. I believe that all senators present have a copy of the proposed budget.

Honourable senators, is it agreed that the following special study supplementary budget application, energy sector, for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2011, be approved for submission to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration?

Hon. Senators: Agreed.

The Chair: So moved, seconded and all in favour. Does that cover all the activities? Thank you, senators. The budget is adopted and the clerk will follow the procedures.
