The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day, at 9:33 a.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Ataullahjan, Callbeck, Day, Dickson, Eggleton, P.C., Gerstein, Marshall, Neufeld, Ringuette and Runciman (10).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Zimmer (1).
In attendance: John Bulmer and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament; Francine Pressault, Communications Officer, Communications Directorate.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, the committee continued its examination of the expenditures set out in the Main Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2011, with the exception of Parliament vote 10. National Energy Board:
Pradeep Kharé, Chief Operating Officer;
Susan Allen, Business Unit Leader, Corporation and Information Solutions and Deputy Chief Financial Officer.
The chair made an opening statement.
Mr. Whittingham made a statement and, together with Mr. Zablocki and Mr. Pesic, answered questions.
At 10:40 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:45 a.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Kharé made a statement and, together with Ms. Allen, answered questions.
At 11:35 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
