The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met this day at 6:20 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the deputy chair, the Honourable Dennis Glen Patterson, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Ataullahjan, Cochrane, Hubley, MacDonald, Patterson, Poirier, Raine and Watt (8).

In attendance: Claude Emery, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, March 25, 2010, the committee continued to examine issues relating to the federal government's current and evolving policy framework for managing Canada's fisheries and oceans (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 1.)
