The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met in camera this day at 4:18 p.m., in room 160-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable Raynell Andreychuk, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Di Nino, Fortin-Duplessis, Jaffer, Johnson, Mahovlich, Patterson and Segal (8).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Robichaud, P.C., and Wallin (2).
In attendance: Natalie Mychajlyszyn and Simon Lapointe, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 and on Thursday, June 3, 2010, the committee continued its examination on the rise of China, India and Russia in the global economy and the implications for Canadian policy. (For complete text of order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 8.)
It was agreed that senators' staff be permitted to stay in the room.
Pursuant to rule 92(2)(f), the committee considered a draft report.
At 5 p.m., pursuant to rule 92(2)(e), the committee continued in camera to consider a draft agenda (future business).
At 5:20 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
