The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 5:18 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Buth, Callbeck, Duffy, Eaton, Mahovlich, Maltais, Mercer, Mockler, Plett and Rivard (10).

In attendance: Aïcha Coulibaly, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, the committee continued its consideration of the subject-matter of those elements contained in Division 19 of Part 4 of Bill C-45, a second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 29, 2012 and other measures. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 25.)

Mr.Boehm, Mr. Brock and Mr. Nicholson each made opening statements and, together, answered questions.

At 6:10 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 6:13 p.m., the committee resumed.

Mr. McBain, Mr Rutter, Mr. Sawyer and Mr. White each made opening statements and, together, answered questions.

At 6:58 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 7:02 p.m., the committee resumed.

Mr. Chase and Mr. McKague each made opening statements and, together, answered questions.

At 7:39 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
