The Standing Senate Committee on Aboriginal Peoples met this day, at 9:43 a.m., in room 160-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable Gerry St. Germain, P.C., presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Ataullahjan, Brazeau, Campbell, Dyck, Lovelace Nicholas, Meredith, Patterson, Raine, St. Germain, P.C., and Sibbeston (10).
In attendance: Shauna Troniak, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, November 17, 2011, the committee began its consideration of Bill C-22, An Act to give effect to the Agreement between the Crees of Eeyou Istchee and Her Majesty the Queen in right of Canada concerning the Eeyou Marine Region.

Mr. Borbey made a statement and, together with Ms. Ross, answered questions.
At 10:06 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:10 a.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Coon Come made a statement and, together with Mr. Pachano, Mr. Blanchette and Mr. Craik, answered questions.
At 10:39 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:40 a.m., the committee resumed. It was agreed that the committee proceed to clause-by-clause consideration of Bill C-22, An Act to give effect to the Agreement between the Crees of Eeyou Istchee and Her Majesty the Queen in right of Canada concerning the Eeyou Marine Region.
