The Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources met in camera this day, at 8:11 a.m., in room 257, East Block, the chair, the Honourable W. David Angus, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Angus, Baker, P.C., Brown, Frum, Johnson, Lang, Massicotte, Mitchell, Seidman and Wallace (10).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Mahovlich (1).
In attendance: Sam Banks, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 3, 2012, the committee continued its examination of the subject-matter of those elements contained in Part 3 of Bill C-38, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 29, 2012 and other measures. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 22.)
Pursuant to rule 92(2)(e), the committee considered its agenda (future business).
After debate, it was agreed that:
The chair and deputy chair be authorized to send the letter summarizing the testimony heard by the committee on Part 3 of Bill C-38, subject to minor modifications, to the Chair and Deputy Chair of the National Finance committee, and that the letter be copied to the Ministers of Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, the Environment and Natural Resources, as well as members of the Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources.
At 9:32 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
