The Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources met this day, at 8:02 a.m., in room 257, East Block, the chair, the Honourable Richard Neufeld, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Lang, MacDonald, Massicotte, Mitchell, Neufeld, Patterson, Seidman, Unger and Wallace (9).
In attendance: Marc LeBlanc and Sam Banks, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, June 6, 2013, the committee continued its examination on the current state of the safety elements of the bulk transport of hydrocarbon products in Canada. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 48.)

Jim Tweedie, Chair, Board of Directors;
Michael Sullivan, Executive Director.
Canadian Gas Association:
Paula Dunlop, Director, Public Affairs and Strategy.
The chair made an opening statement.
Mr. Tweedie made a statement and together with Mr. Sullivan and Ms. Dunlop, answered questions.
At 8:59 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 9:03 a.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee proceeded in camera to consider a draft agenda (future business).
At 9:19 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
