The Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs met this day at 4:20 p.m., in room 160-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable Bob Runciman, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Angus, Baker, P.C., Boisvenu, Chaput, Di Nino, Fraser, Jaffer, Raine, Runciman, Unger and White (12).
In attendance: Robin MacKay and Erin Shaw, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, the continued its consideration of Bill C-26, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (citizen's arrest and the defences of property and persons). (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 19.)
