The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day, at 2 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Buth, Callbeck, Chaput, Dawson, Day, Enverga, Finley, McInnis, Nancy Ruth, Ringuette, Runciman and Smith (Saurel) (13).

In attendance: Sylvain Fleury and Édison Roy-César, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, the committee continued its examination of the subject-matter of Bill C-45, A second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 29, 2012 and other measures. WITNESSES:

Hazardous Materials Information Review Commission:

Rita Coshan, Chair, Council of Governors (by video conference).

Mr. Shepherd made a statement and answered questions.

At 3:26 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 3:30 p.m., the committee resumed.

Ms. Coshan made a statement and answered questions.

At 4 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
