The Standing Senate Committee on Human Rights met this day, at 10 a.m. in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Mobina S. B. Jaffer, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Ataullahjan, Harb, Jaffer, Meredith and White (5).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Boivenu (1).
In attendance: Julian Walker and Lyne Casavan, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament, Ceri Au, Communications Officer, Senate Communications Directorate.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, the committee continued its examination of cyberbullying in Canada with regard to Canada's international human rights obligations under Article 19 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Ms. Seager-Smith, Mr. Davis and Mr. Gardner each made a statement and, together, answered questions.
